Creative Rational
There is a particular oak tree that was historically linked to the area. The daughter-in-law of the first farmer in Porchester, a Mr Butler from Gedling, planted an oak tree in the year of her wedding 1850. This is now the only oak still standing in the area. This back story gave inspiration for the grounding of the visual Identity with the Porchester area. The logotype image is a visual combination of person celebrating and a tree flourishing. Raised hands suggest celebration, as do the symbolic tree blossom elements, dancing like fireworks about the figure. The image combines the idea's of celebration, creative activity and the historical roots of Porchester, linking the identity to the area of Porchester.
